Nelson County Public Schools is one of only 14 school divisions in Virginia in which every school earned a Distinguished rating under the 2025–2026 School Performance and Support Framework. When looking at divisions with at least four schools, only 8 of 104 divisions achieved Distinguished status at every school—about 7.7%. All four NCPS schools are also fully accredited, with no schools receiving federal identification. This divisionwide success reflects the collective work of our students, teachers, staff, administrators, families, School Board, and community. It provides a strong foundation as we continue working toward even greater student growth and achievement.
