Nelson County Public Schools is committed to supporting student success throughout the entire year, including the summer months. Our Summer Learning Program provides meaningful opportunities for students to strengthen essential academic skills while engaging in enriching experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. Through targeted instruction in reading, mathematics, and core content areas, students receive additional support that helps prevent learning loss and builds confidence for the upcoming school year.
In addition to academic support, the NCPS Summer Learning Program offers hands-on enrichment opportunities that encourage students to explore their interests and connect learning to real-world experiences. Programming at the middle and high school levels also incorporates Virginia’s 3E Readiness Framework (Enroll, Enlist, and Employ), helping students begin exploring future pathways through career exploration, community connections, and place-based learning opportunities.
Summer learning at NCPS reflects our commitment to empowering generations through excellence in education. By providing supportive learning environments, engaging instruction, and opportunities for exploration, we aim to help every student grow academically while developing the skills and confidence needed for future success.
