Nelson County High School Automotive Technology students toured several Carter Meyers Automotive dealerships in Charlottesville. The received an inside look at all levels of the dealerships : from sales, to parts and to even turning wrenches in the service department. Our students observed the inner workings of a successful dealership and got a glimpse and understanding of the impact of organizational culture and climate, which promotes success for all personnel.

Thank you CMA for providing this opportunity to our students. NCPS looks forward to future opportunities to engage with the CMA team and creating pathways to student success.

Good afternoon NCHS Parents and Guardians,

Nelson County High School has updated its entry procedures for sporting events to include the use of metal detectors.

Indoor Events:
Spectators will enter through the main entrance of the middle school.

Outdoor Events:
Metal detectors will be set up near the original entrance for games.

Important Guidelines for Spectators:

Please refrain from bringing items that contain metal, such as vapes, pocket knives, small hand tools, and umbrellas (ponchos are encouraged).
Before passing through the metal detectors, spectators should remove their cellphones, wallets, and car keys.
Be mindful of items that could trigger the detector, and avoid bringing them to the games.
Spectators who do not comply with these guidelines may be asked to return items to their vehicles for entry. Those who refuse to comply may be asked to leave the event.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we implement these new security measures to ensure a safe environment for students, coaches, spectators, and officials. We look forward to seeing you at our games. The use of metal detectors will begin at the football scrimmage this Friday. Please review the video from Mr. Mullins. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Mullins at gmullins@nelson.k12.va.us.
