In honor of 9/11, TRES and RRES collaborated with Nelson County Emergency Services to develop a wonderful celebration of First Responders and a lesson on 9-1-1 (when and how to use) to our 2nd- and 3rd-graders. A huge thank you to Vanessa Poe for the initiative in working with our students to educate on 9-1-1. Additionally, we are grateful to the following groups who participated in today's activities: Nelson County EMS, Fire and Rescue, NC Animal Control, NCPS SROs, Nelson Sheriffs Office, Virginia State Police, VDOT, Navy, Roseland Rescue Squad, Lovingston Fire and Rescue, Wintergreen Fire and Rescue, PHI Air Medical, Rockfish Valley Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
Our students had a great time experiencing the lessons of our First Responders and how they work to keep us safe. We appreciate your willingness to be involved with our students, staff, schools, and community.
