NCHS Commencement Information
Nelson County High School Stadium, May 17, 7:30 PM
IMPORTANT STUDENT Information:
Required Student Attendance - Graduation Rehearsal, 8:10 AM
Tuesday, May 14th (shorter, inside)
Thursday, May 17th (longer, outside)
Cap and Gown:
At this point, all seniors should have graduation cap and gowns.
They will get any additional regalia when they arrive on night.
If you/ your senior does not have this, please contact Mrs. Seaman.
Parking and Special Circumstances:
Parking is on a first come serve basis. s.
Guest parking is in the front of high school or middle side lot.
Faculty parking is on the side of school near stadium.
There will be buses available to shuttle guests from Tye River if there is overflow parking.
Handicap parking is available behind the stadium. Students need to let Ms. Staton know by Tuesday 15th, if handicap passes are needed.
Handicap seating is available, and one person may attend to the handicap guest.
We will also have a few wheelchairs and golf cart available for transporting.

Pre Ceremony Information and Dress for Graduation Night:
Seniors report promptly at 6PM to the auditorium.
They should have cap, gown, and tassels.
Dress code is formal. Caution: girls will not want to wear spiked or very high heels.
Students should refrain from brining loud noise makers or anything that could be distracting to the speakers on stage families and guests watching.
Ceremony Information:
At 7:30 PM seniors will be in alphabetical line up and leave the auditorium to make their way stadium.
They will walk around the track and take their seats on field.
Photography is permitted from the fence line.
For guests unable to attend, the ceremony will be live streamed via NCPS YouTube channel
At the conclusion of ceremony there will be fireworks.
Once the fireworks are done, students will be off field, through faculty honor guard and then parents may meet them on field.
Rain Plan:
Decision will be made by Wednesday evening.
Ceremony would be held in the Complex's "new" gym.
10 tickets per graduate, and would be handed out at the Thursday morning rehearsal.
Families would enter through the doors that join middle and high school (same as you for a basketball game or play.)
