Congratulations to Mrs. Allen's third grade class for winning a Doughnuts and Disco party for having the most perfect attendance days during November!

Congratulations to Mrs. Cristi Massie for being named Teacher of the Year for Tye River Elementary School!

Students participated in Trim a Tree last week. All students created a handmade ornament in art class and added it to their grade level tree in our lobby. Students then enjoyed cookies and Grinch punch afterwards.

Preschool Options are available at Tye River Elementary School. These include MACAA Head Start for 3-4 year olds and Nelson VPI for 4 year olds. Applications for the 2024-2025 school year will be available in January 2024.

Please join us on December 11th from 5:30PM to 7:00 PM for Sweets & Stories with Santa! Listen to a Christmas story, take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus, decorate and ornament and more! Hope to see you there!

Don't forget that schools will be closed November 22nd through 24th for Thanksgiving Break!

The deadline for ordering fall pictures is this Thursday, October 26th!

DID YOU KNOW??? There are laws in the state of Virginia about:
- School Attendance (bit.ly/3Lki9G9)
- Chronic Absenteeism (bit.ly/3Rjqttz)
School Attendance Matters - EVERY Gov, EVERY Day!
It was an enjoyable Monday evening watching our Marching Govs perform in a showcase with Amherst and Liberty Christian Academy. I am always impressed with the talent of our students!

The Nelson County Marching Governors were the opening "act" at the 2023 Freedom Fest held at Stoney Creek Resort and Campground in Greenville, VA, on Saturday, September 9. After the band marched through the campground, they performed show music, patriotic music, and the Star Spangled Banner. Then, they had some free time at the festival!
