Application Procedures

How do I apply?

1) Send your resume' with Cover Letter to the Personnel Office. (Fax or e-mail is acceptable)

2) Request original College Transcripts be sent from all Colleges or Universities attended to the Personnel Office. Please check with your college or university as there may be a fee involved.

3) Download an application from our website or call the Personnel Office and we will be glad to mail one to you. Complete the application and include all relevant information. Mail or bring the application to the Personnel Office.

Note: If you do not have the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, download it BEFORE downloading your Nelson County application.

4) Attach a copy of your teaching or administrative license to your application along with the relevant Professional Assessment Test Scores (NTE, PRAXIS or equivalent). Learn More About Licensure from the State Dept. of Ed.

5) Include 3 letters of reference or provide names with telephone numbers of individuals that can provide reference information in regard to your qualifications for the position for which you are applying.

6) Allow ample time for all items to be returned to the Personnel Office, then follow-up with a telephone call to make sure that your file is complete.

7) Call the Personnel Office to arrange a time to tour the buildings and meet the Building Level Administrators.

8) Please remember that applications are kept on file until the end of the Calendar Year. Please call the Personnel Office if you wish to reactivate an application for a subsequent year.
